I seem to be containing a lot these days for I have been silent perhaps for a month. :-)
There's a verse in the Bible that says, "Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to Spirit," from John 3:6.

Upon knowing God, we are born again into His Spirit. So the way of the flesh is no more.
We must be born again into the new life of the Spirit.
Why?
Because the fruit of the flesh is still flesh. Our nature was of the ways of the flesh and was sinful. And when we do mere religion, the fruit is still flesh. Why? Because flesh cannot give birth yet to the Spirit.
Religion is not bad in itself but because we were by nature sinful, by itself it does not bring Spirit. Since the source is the flesh, the fruit will be flesh.
One must be born again into the Spirit. Being born again does not pertain to religion. It means having a new life in the Spirit. When a person is born again, he is a new creation. The old has gone and the new has come! He now brings fruit that will reap eternal harvest!
Discipleship is so powerful because of this same verse. "THE SPIRIT GIVES BIRTH TO THE SPIRIT."
How do we become born again in Spirit?

We receive Jesus Christ in the Spirit through people with His same SPIRIT. You receive Him by the preaching of His Spirit. And that Spirit gives birth in your heart.
No one becomes born again by birth. No person is spiritual by birth.
I pray for the Spirit for you my friend. The Bible says, "If you then though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" (Luke 11:13)
Don't live the Spirit life alone. But let us walk in the Spirit TOGETHER. With our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.
I may be Jesus' tongue today, but you can be His other body part - a helping hand, or an encouraging tongue for people in the future. We all walk in the Spirit.
