The Purpose of Windows

The Holy Spirit is impressing upon me a window today. It can be a closed one or an open one like the one below. Credit: www.photo-dictionary.com Windows provide vision of what is inside or outside but it takes a door (obviously open) before you can enter or exit to that which you are seeing on the other side. Sometimes God would give us a windows experience, declaring what is possible - it can be the potential of a future, something on the horizon, the potential of a person, a country or a company - but He would have us wait for the right door of opportunity to pass before we can enter. Or sometimes we were just meant to appreciate the view but not really enter it as there is a different door for us. Some of us visit houses and see the windows of what is inside but not really go in as we are just travelling to our own destination (and our own doors). I will explain this in more detail later. God has a plan for your life. Whatever it is, the L...

My Pain My Gain

Yesterday, after work hours, I felt the Lord tug at my heart. " Come," he said.  "Take a walk with Me. I will show you something ," not knowing at all where He'll lead or what He will say. I wanted Him to talk to me at that moment while praying at work. I was in need of comfort. But then I knew the only way to find out is to heed Him to follow and so I did. He led me first to a garden filled with couples, I thought for sure He was kidding. But anyway, when you take things a moment at a time, you don't look too far ahead. I just take it all in, wait for what He will tell me. And so I prayed there not bothering with anyone (all the duos around me) and just prayed and waited. No Word yet, just this " They just want the same things you want. " I did not reply back. I just wanted to listen to what He will say. Then I was prompted it was time to move out and keep walking elsewhere. God first led me to a garden filled with couples.  "Come...

Promises Yet To Be Fulfilled

There are some promises of God that are yet to be fulfilled in my life.  For our nation, I was just refreshed again when I saw a writeup I wrote in my journal around September 4, 2012. This was before Typhoon Haiyan and a number of things. It just refreshed me that God is not yet through with his promises and eagerly wait on God for his promises to pass for our country. Here it goes: "Long live the Philippines! Long live the Pearl of the Orient Seas! Long live the Islands of Southeast Asia! Long live the nation of GOD! Long live the kingdom of Christ! Long live the reign of justice and righteousness! Long live clean governance! Long live fast pace growth in our nation! Long live kingdom of God! Long live the Savior and King of this nation - Jesus Christ! God is going to bring prosperity to this nation! God is going to bring growth into this country! God is going to rebuild its walls like you've never seen before! God is going to establish his people and pr...

Desolate No More

Never again will you be called "The Forsaken City" or "The Desolate Land." Your new name will be "The City of God's Delight" Isaiah 62:4 Yesterday, we were at our monthly Prayer and Worship night meeting and we were praying for the Philippines. We remembered how the land was a "third world country," "The Sick Man of Asia." Personally what I remembered was the word "desolate" in this particular verse Isaiah 62:4. For a long time our nation was being "deserted" by its own countrymen looking for a "better place."  People do not have the freedom to choose their course for they take degrees that will be in demand abroad.   I acknowledge that our economy was strengthened by new heroes - "the OFWs" or "Overseas Filipino Workers." My dad was one of them and I reaped the fruits of his labor, living in another land.  But I believe the Lord is doing a new thing for our nation, a differen...

The Year of God's Favor

" The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor... to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion -- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations, ... you will be called priests of the Lord, you will be called ministers of our God.  You will feed on the wealth of nations, and in their riches you will boast. Instead of their shame my people will receive a d...

Praying for Nations

Yesterday, I was supposed to be praying for our Single's Camp and I was excited. I started going to the public urban gardens that we have here in Makati City close to where I work. It's such a nice place to pray and reflect amidst the hustle and bustle of work life which takes most of the daily hours in Makati City. I was supposed to pray for the refreshment of the Singles in our church.  I started with a prayer I knew from my heart. It was the Lord's Prayer: Our Father, Thou art in heaven. Holy be thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Suddenly, I had the burden to pray for nations that were being planted in my heart. I would silently bring them to mind and turn them over to God. Some that I could remember where Japan, Indonesia, Tajikistan, Singapore, Malaysia,...

In Praise of God

I am so amazed at the depth of God's wisdom and sovereignty in planning our lives that He directs it step by step. There are new things to discover about Him day by day. God is never a boring God to me. To me, He is always alive. He can be quiet sometimes. And before to me that was painful - to just be still and recollect the last thing He said. Though at times He can be so "in your face" that it is hard to miss Him, as He guides you daily step by step. I'm in awe of this side of God. There's always something new to learn about Him, about yourself, of life and His creation. The knowledge comes from His Word. I would literally write so many pages in my journals because of all that He would show me. In men's eyes, my world may not have moved that much. I have gone through years and months of waiting time. But deep inside me, the knowledge of God grows so much more, deeply rooted in the fiber of my being until I feel I could not but move as one with Him, in sync ...

Psalm 18:20-24 (The Message)

My new verse is this:  "God made my life complete       when I placed all the pieces before him.    When I got my act together,       he gave me a fresh start.    Now I'm alert to God 's ways;       I don't take God for granted.    Every day I review the ways he works;       I try not to miss a trick.    I feel put back together,       and I'm watching my step.     God rewrote the text of my life       when I opened the book of my heart to his eyes."  Psalm 18:20-24 (The Message) Enable Ginger Cannot connect to Ginger Check your internet connection or reload the browser Disable in this text field Edit Edit in Ginger Edit in Ginger × Enable Ginger Cannot connect to Ginger Check your internet connection or re...
