Yesterday, God impressed upon my heart, after sleeping for a siesta and waking up, that He made life to function in progression. There's an order of things which means His plans do not come in an instant. That is why He teaches us that waiting on Him is imperative.
Life is a progression. A human and other species start from being a baby. A baby is birthed from the perfect union of two cells - the sperm and the ovum. Holiness for a human being is not immediate but comes in a series of steps. Love does not become complete in an instant but grows over time and experience. Relationships are not built quick but come in stages. That is the order of things.
That said, only one is complete, perfect in Holiness, and perfect in Love. That is God alone. He never needs to go in progression. He is complete. He has no beginning and no end. That is one exception He gave to us. He did not make us like Himself. But only with parts of His imprint. That's why people are different and progress in different stages. But God remains the same.
The same way knowledge about God does not come in an instant. The problem we make is when we take God's completeness in our incomplete, imperfect and finite minds. It cannot completely grasp it. Our brains made with billions and billions of neurons cannot grasp the magnificence of God.
All the while, God has left only one thing complete - Himself, His love, His Sacrifice. He created all things. He pulls them together into being. And He is the ultimate completion of all.
For us, life will continue to be a series of steps. My life is a progression. Our knowledge of God, our character, desires, relationships, hopes and dreams are progressions. Seasons come and go. Summer comes and is gone, replaced by days of rain. Seed is planted and the buds grow. The flowers bloom and the trees bear fruit. God made things in wonderful progression.
Since it's only God who is complete from the beginning, we can trust that He never changes. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. His love endures forever. He is faithful in all seasons of your life. He was faithful when you were a baby. He will be faithful when you are finally with Him in Heaven. You can trust Him because while you are not complete, the family you have is not complete, the world you live in is not complete, but because the One who perfectly loves you is complete, you can be sure that you will be okay.
