The Interdependence of Men and Women

I write this piece The Interdependence of Men and Women  in the context of a healthy thriving society, not yet in the context of marriage and relationships, although I may touch just a small part of it. As I went home last night, I feel that God allowed me to experience a temporary sense of weakness, the feeling of needing strength or a boost of faith and encouragement. It made merealize my own vulnerabilities and how the men were naturally designed to partner with us to boost our morale and create a healthy thriving and balanced society. As a single woman, my source of strength is really my God. I have no husband yet so God is really the source of my strength. But sometimes just because God has filled me with enough strength each day, I forget my own vulnerabilities. And personally being single, I do forget sometimes that there are real men, brothers in the faith or wherever that God also designed to help us. God had me realize in a very real way His masculine heart - how we...

What Are You Willing to Fight For?

Before I went off for the movies last Friday, God was making clear to me what my mission was and zoning me in on the things I was made to do and not do so I don't step out of bounds. Boundaries are a good thing. They help me to be clear on what efforts will pull me to my mission and what will pull me away from it. In however short or long this span of life, I need to be clear on the things I will and will not do to keep me from being sidetracked and maximize the purpose for the life that God has for me. Last Friday, I watched  The Monuments Men . It's about this group of men, art curators, who got involved in World War II because they wanted to save priceless artifacts from being destroyed by the Nazis. It was performed by George Clooney, Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett and other wonderful actors. For me it was a good history lesson into something I did not know and I appreciate it for the unique purpose it was trying to do. These men were ordinary men and they gave me a pict...

God's Promise of Shakings

I was reading Isaiah 51 during my time with the Lord this morning. From the text, it somehow answered the discussion my other brother and I were having last night. He was telling me about certain predictions concerning my country, the Philippines. I just told him about one Word that God the LORD gave three or four years ago that is coming true since then. It was the promise of God that He will shake what can be shaken. Haggai 2:6:  “ This is what the  Lord  Almighty says: ‘In a little while  I will once more shake the heavens and the earth,  the sea and the dry land.   I will shake all nations, and what is desired  by all nations will come, and I will fill this house  with glory, ’ says the  Lord  Almighty. " Hebrews 12: 26-27: " And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, "YET ONCE MORE I WILL SHAKE NOT ONLY THE EARTH, BUT ALSO THE HEAVEN."  This expression, "Yet once more," denotes the removing of ...

Death, Where is Your Sting?

Several people have gone from this world to the next with us noticing. The recent devastation in Yolanda has claimed a 5,000+ death toll. A rail station crash from New York claimed four lives. Just last night, my brother told me that American actor Paul Walker died in a car crash on Saturday. The Washington Post made a lovely and very nostalgic album of notable deaths in 2013 . While I'm not particularly in joyful spirits to hear anyone's demise, the daily rate at which it happens this time can't seem to pass me by. While browsing The Washington Post's collection of pictures of people who died that made a mark in different fields - actors, authors, journalists, musicians, people from the world of sports, I wonder to myself what my own obituary would be like without making a death wish. But in the reality of it without wanting to sound depressing, is death one of life's philosophy questions? We may or may not have an opinion on death - philosophical or not - ...

Revelation

The following is a series of random prophesies that I believe God is speaking to me and could be for other people. It is not arranged in a particular manner but is meant to flow from conversation as if He were Himself speaking. Here it goes.. Jesus is in the reversal business. Reversing the enemy's work. Truth to lie, restoration to destruction, blessing to curse, peace to confusion, healing to disease, covering to disgrace, hope to hopelessness, life to death, immortality to mortality, prosperity to poverty, enlightenment to spiritual blindness, happiness and joy to sorrow, unity over division, courage over fear, strength for weakness, grace for condemnation, relationship over religion, worth over shame, godliness over unrighteousness, belief over unbelief, justice over injustice, love over hate, power over the grave, extraordinary over ordinary, intelligence over stupidity, wisdom over foolishness, perfection out of imperfection, control over chaos, character out of cham...
